Not everyone was bright enough to get the point despite it being fairly clear. Want a hug, stranger?
sure, and thanks.
It’s actually quite annoying how I’m still getting anons yelling at me, telling me I should get help instead of whining about it here, even though I blatantly state I am working an this on my own and I was only saying all of that as a way of keeping you people in the loop in a ways. it was only for those who actually give a shit, I can’t contact all of them to let them know personally Nice to know at least some people read the whole thing and got the point.
after almost a week of staying off tumblr and other pony sites, I do feel better. really, what I was saying is the pony fandom is the problem. I couldn’t give a bigger shit what Hasbro does at this point, mostly because they really aren’t doing anything other then planning and showing those plans that could easily change by the time they are actually done. I just grew very sick of the fandom’s rumor milling and hectic behavior towards all it and it just made me sick and frustrated.
I probably shouldn’t have bothered bringing my personal life into this, mostly because it was just me listing off the bad shit, and of course, there are people who don’t believe me, which is just grand. nice to know people would actually think I’m laying about my sister’s death.
I’m deciding to not comment an any of those messages personally though, because well, why should I? they are all built off of the same assumption that I, for some reason, think anyone on this site can fix my problems other then me. I’m not that dumb, I know what I need to do and I’ve been doing it.
I’m probably just going to go ahead and make the post privet. I hate deleting things in general, but it seems too many people are misinterpreting it and I’m sick of people responding to that message like it just happened yesterday.
I’ll get back to you all eventually, I’ve just been keeping myself occupied with other things and I plan to keep that way for a while.
Now that Monster U is coming out…
ldraptor:
I wonder if Pixar is going to make another sequel. maybe another Prequal, this one could take place in High-School and be called Monster H-wait…
I know this isn’t pony related but eh…
So someone mentioned to me that this pic needed some “Fixes” due to recent trends. I know EXACTLY what they meant…
Another odd thought.
after seeing how much of a fan-base this whole show developed in a short time, I wonder how long it will take for other stations to try and get a part of the pie. By that I mean make shows that are similar in style, characters, etc. to MLP. we’ve already seen how Hasbro has been trying to get lightning to strike twice with some of their other shows (Equestia Girls, MLPS, etc.), but what about the other networks?
we’ve already seen how cartoon network’s “mad the animated series” has already made a handful of pony parodies, even going as far to hire Tara Strong to voice their Twilight parody. I have to wonder when the clones start showing up. It’s actually kinda odd how there really hasn’t been any yet from other networks. hell, it’s also a little odd that Lauren Faust still seems to not be able to find a network who will pick up Galaxy Girls. then again, seeing how she’s kept busy since her leaving the show, she might just be waiting on it, if not just given up.
Just more random thoughts. blame the flu I currently have. my head is full of fuck. I also don’t follow cartoons too well, so maybe I’m missing something and making myself look like an ass… probably.
An odd and somewhat horrifying thought…
what if by the time G5 roles around Hasbro will use it as an excuse to age up the series a bit in terms of target audience. sorta like how the recent transformers movies are CLEARLY not made for kids. they now know there is an audience who might eat it up… it would be serial to say the least…
I have been hearing that Equestia Girls is sorta supposed to be doing that, but I haven’t heard any confirmation of that and it looks more like it will be geared towards the pre-teen market more then the teen-young adult market. but you never know.
I guess the comics could also count, they do feel more mature then the show at times.
whatever, it’s just a random thought.
Late night CALL OF THE DOODLE. I have no idea why Fluttershy is drinking in the nude. she probably lounges in her house naked all the time anyways…
So I guess we will now be known as “brothernies”…
ok ok…
I’m calmer now.

here
I’m sorry if I’ve been coming across as a bit on edge or dramatic lately this whole thing has been stressful for me mostly because I always saw ponies as a huge art inspiration for me, and seeing it changing to a less attractive model for my art kinda ticked me off. not just the show, but the fan work. I expect many Tumblrs and web series to adopt this new “cannon” and run with it. that in general depresses me, especially when it runs the risk of digging a huge hole if the story does turn out to be temporary. it’s going to be a little tougher finding funny little MLP comics on derpibooru without having them involve the new twilight, or revolve around it.
I shouldn’t have said I was taking a long break from ponies, mostly because that’s probably a load of BS. I’m just going to mostly avoid depicting Alicorn Twilight in any of my comics or pics till I feel that plot is up and the end is clearer… and even then…
one thing I do want to bring up is Equestian Girls. I’m actually not dreading it like most seem to be, if anything it could be a nice placeholder while MLP is on burner for season 4. I do want to see what it turns out to be, even if it’s bad, it might still be fun to watch and make fun of. It’s not like it’s cannon, and to be honest, if it’s going to be going for a more sitcom root instead of a more action adventure root, it might have a chance of really grounding things in a way that we can really focus on the characters being fun then them being serious and in danger. it also would give some much needed drive to do some more comics and such.
I would not be so sure of that at this point, Twilicorn being permanent that is, No writer in their right minds puts parts 2 and 3 in a separate season, it is kinda obvious that this was thrust on them during the production of season 3 and didnt have any more episode slots left. So they put it over in season 4 for resolution of the plot. And I am gonna give it a good chance that this Alicornship thing is anything but permanent, and if it is I doubt the show will revolve around it.
I just hope they go with the first option. I just really want this alicorn thing to be temporary. there is a good story in there. It has an interesting chance to delve into Celestia’s deal and what she’s all about, even going into some of her character flaws for a change. I’m not against that at all.
the problem with the second option, if the show sticks with the change, even if the show doesn’t revolve around it, it will still be bad because in many ways, they should. If you do something like that, it has to change things or else it’s like nothing even happened so the build up and the values are worthless. how the hell do you continue the series like nothing happened when you have Twi as a literal celebrity and authority figure? if they where to do that, it would literally turn Twi into a walking plothole.
McCarthy has stated, in a interview with Entertainment Weekly, that she wants to use this Twilight opportunity to try and go into alicorn mythology. I believe it will answer a lot of questions, and admittedly the episode did feel a little crammed, but what can you do when it was almost DEFINITELY a demand from the guys in suits, and you only have so much time to make it? You gotta understand that they were crammed for time, but I think a lot of questions are gonna be answered in season 4
I’m fine with this being a temporary plot in order to answer said questions and build such a mythology my problem stems from the fact that this whole thing is playing into an idea of this being the permanent new direction the of series. this will no long be a show about twilight having social based adventures with her friends and more about her being a princess and her friends not being princesses. it feels distracting and it changes the whole mood of the series. I hope this is just a temporary event, I hope this is just trying to get a interesting story out and they can change twilight back to normal and they can continue the series like it was before. I just simple do not like the idea of twilight being such a focus for that long.
I understand the time issue, it’s not that big of a deal, my problem is they made it still feel like there was no direction to go from here. if they did more to foreshadow what the hell this long term plan is, I wouldn’t be so frustrated. it was too much sentimental filler and not enough plot.
